The Learning Research Institute was established for the
purpose of providing an effective solution to the problem
of underperforming students. Through extensive research
and testing over a 25 year period, Dr. Lee Hoffmann has
developed the Hoffmann Integration Process to help where

Lee Hoffmann, PhD
1962 B.A. Degree from Chico State University - Major in Psychology; Minor in Speech Therapy
1965 - 1985 Cupertino Elementary School District, Eaton Elementary School
- Resource Specialist/Counselor: Responsible for developing and implementing special programs for special students, chaired IEP meetings.
1974 Pupil Personnel Credential from State of California.
1983
- Received MA in Psychology and Education from Columbia Pacific University
- Served for Twenty-three years as a Learning Disabilities Specialist/Counselor in the Cupertino Union Elementary School District, Cupertino, California.
- Fifteen years doing informal research on the question "Why do people with perfectly normal intelligence often find it so difficult to learn in the classroom?"
- Conducted two years formal research for a Doctoral Thesis on the same subject.
- Received grants totaling $20,000.00 from the Lucille and David Packard Foundation.
- Evaluated information processing on 4,000 students in Santa Clara County.
- The information gained from the above field research and the literature research done on the brain processes resulted in the development of an instructional kit to diagnose and remediate neural dysfunction.
- Bio-Semantics, Inc. was formed to market the kit. The program tested over 3,000 students and was being used in two public and two private schools.
- Enrolled 150 students and instructed Bio-Semantics program at a private clinic
- Received PhD in Psychology and Education from Columbia Pacific University
- Formed the 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Corporation, Learning Research Institute. This is a research facility to continue developing programs based on how the brain processes information. It is also a remedial tutorial resource for children and adults with learning difficulties.
- LRI published doctoral thesis as a book, “Bio-Semantics, The Missing Link?” to use in professional development workshops.
- President of the Santa Clara County Chapter of the California Association for Neurologically Handicapped Children and Adults (CANHC) which is affiliated with the national organization, Association for Children and Adults with Learning Disabilities (ACLD).
- Presented the Bio-Semantics program and materials at a workshop to the State CANHC Conference in October, 1986.
- Published an article in May, 1987 issue of Child Care Center Magazine (circulation: 35,000 childcare centers).
- Served as Guest Editor for the State of California Newsletter Association for Neurologically Handicapped Children and Adults (CANHC).
- Continued ground breaking research in neurology during extended sabbatical, traveling extensively North America and in Europe
- Director of the Chico Women’s Club
- Commenced new research under reformed Learning Research Institute to help solve the problems are still challenging traditional remedial approaches. Renamed the program Bio-Semantics to HIP: Hoffmann Integration Process.
- Resumed instructional delivery and research at the new LRI. The LRI is currently operating two afternoon sessions with six students each. Students gaining up to 4 years in reading levels in only twelve weeks and dramatic grade improvement from Ds and Fs to As and Bs. Parents report dramatic improvements in student behavior and cognitive/academic performance.

Glynda-Lee Hoffmann
1973-1977 Attended Christ Circle Seminary in Boulder Creek, CA.
Studied "A Course in Miracles," "Ascended Masters of the Far East,"
Buddhism, Taoism, Christian Science, Prophetic Biblical Interpretation and Qabalah.
1987-1994 Researched Qabalah and brain science, including the work of Dr. Paul MacLean,
head of the department of brain evolution at NIMH, Dr. Elkonhon Goldberg, Antonio and
Hanna Damasio and Daniel Goleman.
1995-2002 Prepared manuscript, found an agent, obtained endorsements.
2003 Book published by Park Street Press, "The Secret Dowry of Eve."
Owner/Operator of the website EdenMind.com.
Associate Director, Learning Research Institute. Conducted research for 12
weeks with a group of 9 second grade students. Tested, applied HIP methods, compiled data.
2004 Joined Chico Women's Club, currently serve on Board of Directors.
2006 Preparing second manuscript - fiction - attend writing group once a week.

June 2006 Redwood Area Mathematics Project: Instructor of Algebra ELD Institute, a
national seminar for secondary math teachers.
Since 1999 Sara Rose has pursued passions in Circus arts and Textile designs.
She is a founding member of the local textile collective Chikoko, and is an
integral member of The Loyd Family Players.
